Quality Tech Services, Inc. (QTS), a provider of medical device cleanroom assembly and packaging outsourcing services, has experienced an increased demand for custom approaches to the assembly and inspection of medical devices, in addition to the packaging services they provide. The increase comes from a shift in medical device manufacturers’ willingness to outsource more of their products inspection, assembly and packaging to a contract solutions provider, such as QTS. This allows them to better focus on R&D and to stay on top of FDA scrutiny which has directly affected medical device manufacturers’ resources.
QTS has also seen an increase in complex assembly services ranging from: multi-component kitting, solvent welding, silicone coating, liquid nitrogen processing (for services including nitinol component assembly) and suture tying. In addition, medical device manufacturers are requesting more detailed inspection of their components to ensure specifications are met using a third party check on the device. Sub-tier component manufacturers often do not have the ability to perform the necessary inspection level demanded by the industry.
QTS is excited about the shift in demand to complex assemblies and increased inspection services as it reinforces their commitment and longevity to the medical device industry.
